Abstract
Stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI) are the main causes of mortality and functional dependence among adults in Brazil and worldwide. Nevertheless, there is very little information about the acute management of those conditions in our country. Most of the data about stroke and TBI in the Brazilian public health care system come for selected populations and retrospective registries. Therefore, we aim to establish a robust electronic registry of stroke and TBI at a Tertiary Academic Public Hospital in Brazil, that will provide high quality information that will help to better plan, evaluate and develop public health interventions for those conditions in the country.
