Abstract

This research aims to study the architectures subregional Defense, but specifically, the Board of South American Defense. With this aim basically achieve the following objectives: 1) To discuss the current status of CDS, its advances, and setbacks estancamentos, but particularly the achievements towards the building an architecture South American defense, 2) Understand the arrangement subjective in which some political figures that moment, the plot wove historical allowed the formation of CDS, 3) study the formation and production of commissions Working CDS that, despite the vagaries of politics, to build agenda commitments, schedules and execution by the chain of responsibility proposed activities, 4) analyze in greater depth the newly created Center Strategic Studies CDS / UNASUR, the participation of different countries, the composition thereof, goals and achievements, and,5) Analyze the relationship Brazil with CDS, especially through their participation in the Working Committees, trying to understand why, after having been the main supporter of CDS, its Participation in these committees, which constitute the executive part of the CDS, is so poor.
