Abstract

The laboratory of physiology of microorganisms at USP and Prof. Yagil's laboratory in Tel-Aviv have a longstanding collaboration. Prof. Yagil is a pioneer in the study of the PHO regulon and has contributed to the characterization of the PHO regulon components and the elucidation of its control mechanism. He is also an expert on phage genetics, particularly on the genetics of lambdoid phages. We will benefit from the expertise of Prof. Yagil on the PHO regulon and on phage genetics to guide the laboratory in the following tasks: - Characterization of unstable PHO-constitutive mutants- Isolation and characterization of transducing phages for diarrheogenic E. coli (AU)
