Abstract

Fish farming can be a lever for economic and social development, enabling the effective use of local natural resources. However, like any other economic exploitation, needs a strategy to produce good results in their production units. Thus, performance measures provide improved conditions for the activity, in other words, when an economic agent uses inputs to turn them into products. This project aims to analyze and evaluate the performance of production systems for fish in the region of Ilha Solteira, São Paulo state, in order to verify the degree of productive efficiency, in order to generate support for new evaluation criteria and operation in relation productive systems in tanks nets through the analysis DEA (Data envelopment analysis) for a set of fish properties. The data envelopment analysis can potentially provide better competitive conditions to fish farmers, especially when interpreted and used with the knowledge and judgment of these on their own operations. Within this theme, as proposed to measure an efficiency rating units fish under the economic perspective , efficiency refers to the ability of a firm has to combine the optimal proportions of features that make it possible to obtain greater volume of product, highlighting that management should not only be summed up in economic indicators for analysis.
