Abstract

This project aims to support the research already under development in the Laboratory of Risk Analysis (LabRisco) of the Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering Department of the Polytechnic School at University of São Paulo. The main goal of the ongoing research is to develop a methodology for quantitative consequences analysis involving a leakage of flammable and/or toxic substances in environments with barriers or semi-confined; this methodology will effectively supports the mitigation of the risks involved in operations where these conditions are present, i.e. in oil and gas production facilities, refineries and industrial plants.Despite the available infrastructure in LabRisco in order to fully achieve the objectives it is necessary to supplement the resources, especially concerning to the exchange of knowledge with other researchers, discussion and dissemination of results and the required tests fields. Thus, this project makes up the budget resources needed to improve the existing infrastructure in the institution, performing tasks of discussion and dissemination of the results (such as conferences), support to researchers and especially for the evaluation of field tests.
