Abstract
The present project represents the continuity of a line of research focussing on the general aspects (mineralogical, petrological, geochemical and geochronological) of the alkaline magmatism that occurs dominantly along the margins of the Paraná, Bauru and Santos basins and also spreads over the territories of Brazil and neighbor countries (Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay). This magmatism, ranging in age from Triassic to Paleocene, clusters a large number of occurrences that have been systematically investigated aiming a better knowledge of their petrological history and of the processes playing a role in the formation of alkaline rocks. The project will support research activities including field work and laboratory analyses of rocks and minerals. (AU)
