Abstract

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint characterized by deterioration and abrasion of articular tissue and concomitant underlying subchondral bone remodeling due to overloading of the mechanism of remodeling. The low power laser and sodium hyaluronate of high molecular weight have been shown to be effective in the repair and regeneration of tissues of the TMJ, may aid the treatment of degenerative diseases of this joint, making it imperative to know their actions from the point of view cellular and tissue. 48 will be used both for male Wistar rats divided into four groups: group I animals with induced osteoarthritis and group II animals with osteoarthritis treated with low power laser; Group III animals treated with osteoarthritis of high molecular weight hyaluronate and group IV, animals with osteoarthritis treated with low-power laser and high molecular weight hyaluronate. The experiments will be performed in the left and right TMJ is used as control. For morphological analysis, will be performed histological sections stained with hematoxylin-eosin (HE), toluidine blue (AT) and Picrosirius. Analyzes will be performed biochemical and molecular through conventional zymography, agarose gel and ELISA (AU)
