Abstract

The Foundation for the Support of Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP-Fap) was established in May 2005, is veiled by the Curator of Foundations of the State Prosecutor and has its relationship with Unifesp regulated by specific federal legislation. The FapUNIFESP well as supporting University in actions, educational, research and extension projects, presents SciELO Program in support of improvement of scientific journals with open access publication indexing and the Publisher FapUNIFESP, which was founded 2008 in order to spread knowledge in the areas of humanities, sciences and health. The FAP-UNIFESP Publisher search to creation of an editorial-academic culture that values the work of university, consolidating its own literature which can fill the gaps in the preparation and dissemination of academic and scientific knowledge in the country. The publishing aims to publication of quality books for society, and for students of Brazilian universities, specifically with texts focused on the reality in which they live.The FapUNIFESP publisher can be considered an integrating element of a multicampi University, as university press, following the academic logic and not necessarily the market logic. The intellectual production of a public university is a public good.This project also aims to contribute to the institutional database and divulgation of research groups and equipments present in the UNIFESP facilities in order to facilitate the interaction among research groups with consequent gains in the production and interaction intra- and extra-muros.
