Abstract

This is a research proposal for a stay at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, U. of São Paulo, of Vladimir Blinovsky (Institute for Information Transmission Problems, Russian Academy of Sciences) for a 12-month period, starting on 15 February 2015. The main focus of the proposed research is on probabilistic and extremal combinatorics, two areas of expertise of this invited researcher.Specific research topics included in the project are (i) probability in discrete spaces, (ii) extremal intersection theory and (iii) extremal graph theory, applied to information theory.
