Abstract
Research on biogas is considered not only strategic to the issue of management of organic waste and effluent, but also to the strengthening of biofuels to generate electricity. Currently, the Capital Campus has little infrastructure for high-tech development in the subject, hindering the further development of undergraduate and graduate students to develop technical studies for planning biogas plants for energy recovery and effluent treatment. In view of the need to develop the technology to make the management of waste produced in the most efficient Campus and also conduct studies of electrical and thermal energy generation from renewable sources, it is necessary improve the infrastructure and purchase equipment to analytical and process support. The laboratory structure will not only allows the study of waste treatment from the University of São Paulo, but also of other ones generated in the urban space, industrial and agroindustrial. The acquisition of equipment for technical support in studies of biogas will contribute to the training of researchers, trainees and undergraduates and graduate promoting development and dissemination of technology in question. So, the results obtained from studies with equipment acquired will contribute to the increased academic productivity. (AU)
