Abstract

The present project aims at investigating the presence of 'cooperative robustness' and 'shielding' for systems with long-range interactions: these effects are the signatures of the emergence of two dynamics with very different time scales (one very fast compared to the single-particle dynamics, and the other very slow), which subspaces are essentially decoupled. The project addresses both a toy model and a model of light scattering on cold atoms, so that new results can be further studied more specifically in the frame of a cold atom experiment, such as the ones running in São Carlos.
