Abstract

The creation of biobanks is a strategic effort in research institutions focusing on translational research. In line with this vision was started in 2012 Biobank deployment project in the Hospital Sírio-Libanês (Biobank-HSL). Currently, the Biobank-HSL totaling 4,123 samples of fresh tissue or whole blood collected from 1,138 patients. These numbers will grow significantly in 2016 in light of measures to expand the collections in the institution. Operational management of Biobank-HSL is performed by the SIB-Sírio (Biobank Information System of the Hospital Sírio-Libanês), a software platform developed by the EPO in Web-HSL own. The development of software aimed to manage in detail the operational indicators of Biobank-HSL, a fundamental need in the stages of implementation of processes related to the Biobank-HSL. Objective of this project is to develop a module for the Biobank Information System of the Hospital Sírio-Libanês allowing traceability of the sample processing. This module will allow the Biobank information system integrates the sample processing activities carried out in the laboratories, providing security and traceability to this process. (AU)
