Abstract

The project "Development of a new methodology for multibeam bathymetry coupled with a personal watercraft: speed and versatility in data acquisition" brings the use of a multibeam bathymetry system installed in a personal watercraft for the bathymetric surveys on (i) very shallow areas, as channels, water streams, small rivers and beaches; (ii) difficult access areas, as closed bays, navigation channels in ports, restrict lagoons, dam lakes among others; (iii) and also high energy areas as the breaker and surf zones in beaches. The multibeam bathymetry of those areas will bring benefits to the companies that operate at those areas, to governments companies and environmental institutions and to any other who is interested in a fast and efficient study, which provides high speed of data acquisition, data reliability, velocity of processing and data quality. Those kind of study are important to dam lakes monitoring, waterways, ports, environmental monitoring, beaches morphological monitoring and evaluation of erosion and stability of slopes. (AU)
