Abstract

This study aims to analyze the costs for health insurance companies based on data from a population screening program for prostate cancer in São Paulo (SP - Brazil), and analyse the cost-effectiveness of surgical and ablative treatments offered, such open, laparoscopic and robotic surgeries and ablative therapy (HIFU) realized in the AC Camargo Cancer Center. The analysis of the overall costs involved in screening, diagnosis and treatment will be performed in collaboration with Fundação Getúlio Vargas and will contribute to the build a profile of the Brazilian male population that really will benefit from policies of prevention and treatment for prostate cancer.
