Abstract
An area of Operational Research that is evolving is the simulation optimization via (OvS), being in evidence the computational time required for the convergence of the proposed algorithms. Here the object of study is a leader Company in the Brazilian steel sector that uses intensively discrete event simulation (SED) models to support its aggregate production planning process. It faces difficulties in this planning process, due to the large number of variables involved that require the adoption of some smaller models, when the ideal would be to use a global model to support the decision process. The quality of the solution is significantly impaired given that the simultaneous analysis of all the factors of the process is hardly performed. The aim of this project is to propose a systematic procedure for an aggregate production planning, incorporating the uncertainties inherent in the consumer market, for a typical company in the steel sector, including the combination of various techniques: Design of Experiments, SED, Fuzzy Logic and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The models to be developed will be tested and validated using data of Company which was chosen as the object of study. It is hoped that this procedure will be effective and efficient, reducing the search space of solutions and the computational time required to obtain the solutions (Pareto Optimal), and without losing the quality of the final response.
