Abstract

The study presented is a sequence to the research projects that investigated stuttering in children and that received financial support from FAPESP and CNPq. All of the previous projects have reverted in several publications in peer reviewed Journals, books and chapters, and oral presentations at national and international scientific events. The present research intends to validate the RISK PROTOCOL FOR DEVELOPMENTAL STUTTERING in order to prove its accuracy (sensibility, specificity, predictive positive and negative values, ROC curve and ratio of diagnostic probability).Once validated, the RISK PROTOCOL FOR DEVELOPMENTAL STUTTERING will be considered a diagnostic test for developmental stuttering, an important instrument for decision-making: to confirm the disorder, clinical severity, prognosis, and therapy monitoring. Validation will verify if the test identifies, with safe boundaries, the presence or absence of developmental stuttering. (AU)
