Abstract

In previous projects, the theoretical bases were selected and analyzed. Analytical devices that contributed to the comprehension of aspects of the nature and also to the comprehension of the legate of the science education in our society were also developed, selected or analyzed. In addition it were analyzed some strategies to work with specific knowledge at different teaching levels. The reading activity, already present in ours previous works, is the central focus in the present project. We will try to understand some characteristic elements of the trajectory of activities with reading process in the science education area. With that aim, we will try the comprehension about: how the authors of publications about science education (biology, physics, geosciences, chemistry) involving reading activities have sought support in different theoretical and methodological supports; how have been characterized the functioning and functions of the reading activities according to the authors of science education publications; and to structure how has been given the relations between the theoretical/methodological support and the functioning/function of reading in the science education. In order to develop the present work the main theoretical device to be utilized is the discourse analysis in the branch originated in France by Michel Pêcheux. The activities of analyze will be performed beginning from papers published at the IX national meeting of research in science teaching and will be restricted to Brazilian periodic magazines. (AU)
