Abstract

This project comes from the study of the process of burning and degradation of leather residue that can be developed at a later stage, briquettes of this waste as an energy source alternative.Initially, the waste is subjected to the spray drying process, and will later be dried in an oven. After these procedures will be carried out the study of thermal properties (thermal degradation, endothermic events and exothermic during degradation determination of the heat capacity and the calorific value and determining the released components in each stage of firing, as the temperature at which the material . is submitted The techniques used are: TGA, DTG, TGA / FTIR, DSC.The determination of the kinetic parameters associated with the process of pyrolysis will be achieved through Vyazovkin method found through data of TGA curves. Obtained the kinetic parameters, the activation energy is calculated.The second step is the use of leather waste for the production of briquette in a laboratory briqueteira and will subsequently conducted the study of this biomass densification seeking the highest possible thermal efficiency.
