Abstract

This proposal aims to strengthen scientific cooperation between UFRGS-RS and UNICAMP-SP, through the visit of Prof. Ana Claudia Franco as a visiting researcher (PV). In this proposal the following activities are planned: collaboration in research projects; undergraduates and graduates´ training; educational activities. With regard to research, the PV candidate can collaborate on projects that are in progress at UNICAMP, as Dr. Ana C. Franco has experience in the execution of virology techniques, cell culture, molecular biology techniques applied to virology and the use of bioinformatics tools, which are all essential to the correct execution of the experiments and evaluation of the experiments set out in the research projects in progress at the host institution. With regard to students´ training and teaching, Dr. Ana Claudia Franco has experience in teaching and supervising students in two Post-Graduate Programs at UFRGS: Post-Graduation Program in Agricultural Microbiology and Environment (PPGMAA) and Post-Graduation Program in Veterinary Sciences (PPGCV). Dissertations and thesis supervised so far by the PV are focused on animal and environmental virology, areas of interest of the beneficiary researcher Dr. Clarice W. Arns. (AU)
