Abstract

This project consists of two studies, whose objectives are: 1. The aim of this study is to evaluate if the training of pelvic floor muscles, which associates an individualized treatment progressing to a group treatment, would be more effective than an individualized training only or groups only. 2. To evaluate the effects of LLLT on pelvic floor muscle, quality of life and urinary symptoms on women with stress incontinence urinary.The study 1 is randomized clinical trial, will be selected 90 women with stress incontinence urinary. Will be held anamnesis, application of the "King's Health Questionnaire", which evaluates the impact of urinary incontinence on quality of life. MAP function by digital palpation and perineometer during rest and maximal voluntary contraction will be evaluated. Will be distributed in groups: Group 1 - Individual training + group training, Group 2 - Individual training only and Group 3 - group training only. The volunteers will perform an exercise protocol to pelvic floor muscles once a week. All the women will be subject to clinical evaluation and functional assessment of pelvic floor prior to the beginning of the practice of training, after 12 weeks and after 3 months. Data analysis: the analyses shall be carried out pre-and post-intervention. The data will be tabulated in Excel program and statistically analyzed in Statistica 7.0 program. The normality of the data will be checked by the Shapiro-wilk test. Appropriate statistical tests will be used to compare groups and check the correlation or association between the variables of interest. For all analyses will be considered a significance level of 5% (p<0,05).The study 2 is randomized clinical trial, will be selected 94 women with stress urinary incontinence. On the first evaluation will be made anamnesis, functional assessment of pelvic floor muscles by PERFECT method, perineometer and electromyographic. Will be distributed in groups: Pelvic floor muscle training + LLLT or Pelvic floor muscle training + LLLT (sham). The volunteers will perform an exercise protocol to pelvic floor muscles once a week in the laboratory from 12 sessions. All the women will be subject to clinical evaluation and functional assessment of pelvic floor again after 12 sessions, 6 months and 12 months. Data analysis: the analyses shall be carried out pre-and post-intervention. The data will be tabulated in Excel program and statistically analyzed in Statistica 7.0 program. The normality of the data will be checked by the Shapiro-wilk test. Appropriate statistical tests will be used to compare groups and check the correlation or association between the variables of interest.
