Abstract
Fruit production has become an important alternative economic strategy for the social reproduction of small farmers, and the Dracena region emphasized the expressiveness of this activity, highlighting the cultures of grape and cherry. The fig (Ficus carica L.) is a fruit of great importance worldwide and it can be deployed as a new source of agricultural variability, adding significant benefits to the region, both from an economic and a social point of view. In addition, the characterization of genus Ficus germplasm active banks becomes an important line of research to improve the culture, it is necessary to gather information about this species, especially in relation to their variability gene for propagation projects and handling are carried out. This study aims to introduce the fig culture in the microregion of Dacena - SP by performing the maintenance and agronomic, morphophysiological and molecular characterization, using quantitative and qualitative descriptors, of 30 fig accessions (Ficus carica L.) of the germplasm bank of the Faculty of Engineering of Ilha Solteira FEIS/UNESP, to be propagated an conducted in experimental design at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology FCAT/UNESP, Dracena, allowing the quality recognition and the potential of the germplasm of this species. Therefore, characteristics of its productive interest as well as biometric characteristics of leaves and fruits will be evaluated. In addition, will be analyzed major diseases of crop implications to be possible to select resistant cultivars. For its maintenance, the access will be vegetative propagated and their genetic divergence in genomic level, by using 13 SSR molecular markers, will be carried out. After finalized the characterizations, the data access will be available to the academic/scientific community, so that they can be used in future works about conservation, breeding and production of the species.
