Abstract

This research assumes that corporate demand for resources for innovation is reduced, although there are several of policies and The innovation support programs in Brazil. As a consequence of this low innovative performance, Brazil shows a weak share in the international market, especially in high-tech sectors. The main objective of the research is to understand the causes of the low innovative dynamism of the Brazilian industry, from innovation indicators for Brazil and a number of selected countries. We intend, with the construction of these indicators,to obtain a measure of the technological gap between Brazil and these economies, as well as to assess the efficacy of innovation policies in Brazil.
