Abstract

This research intends to study the Anta intrusive complex (RJ), in the light of magnetic anisotropy and rock magnetism methods, aiming at the knowledge about the mode of placement of this complex. In order to do so, we intend to determine the magnetic properties of the different facies of the complex by means of a detailed study of rock magnetism associated with petrographic and geochemical analyzes, besides determining magnetic anisotropies (susceptibility and magnetic remanence). The magnetic fabrics obtained will be compared with regional structural elements, in order to verify deformations present mainly in the central part of the complex. It is intended to associate the magnetic data with the other existing geological data, in an attempt to establish the mode of placement of the complex and, if possible, to establish the position of its generating source, contributing to a better knowledge about the relation between magmatism and tectonics in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
