Abstract

This research aims to develop the first Brazilian lighting probe used in Ophthalmologic surgery of cataracts, Glaucoma and Retina. The research is to verify the optical fiber's ability to polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) to transmit the light to the eye during surgery. Study and develop a lighting probe to be manufactured in Brazil and reduce the high costs facing international competitors. This study seeks to reduce costs in cataract, glaucoma and retina surgery made by SUS. (AU)
