Abstract

This research project aims to establish a protocol for monitoring degraded areas in the process of recovery by heterogeneous planting using infrared spectroscopy. The State of São Paulo lacks new technologies and methods that assist in the control processes; and with regard to environmental agencies responsible for the control of pollution sources and environmental recovery areas, this situation is not different. Infrared spectroscopy is an important technique used in environmental studies to characterize biological systems. This technique studies the chemical bonds present in the molecules by interacting with the radiation in the infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum (10-6 to 10-3m) transforming into vibrational energy, represented graphically in the form of an infrared spectrum. In this project the use of the spectroscopic technique in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the constituents of leaf samples of Rapanea ferruginea (popular name: capororoca) responsible for its growth / development in relation to different solar incidence conditions employed in the recovery process Of an area degraded by sand extraction. To carry out the monitoring, a portable spectrophotometer will be acquired, capable of obtaining the infrared spectrum of samples in the field. Samples will be collected every two months and the study of environmental recovery performance over two years. (AU)
