Abstract

The feed mill is now operating in a building of approximately 500m2. It produces food for pigs, poultry, ruminants, fish, dogs, cats and horses. It presents two complete production lines for poultry feed, one for pigs and poultry, the other dedicated to ruminants, a complete production line for pelleted feed, used for horses, poultry and pigs, and a complete line of extruded food products used in studies with dogs, cats and aquatic organisms.This structure has made it possible for the FCAV to follow important research in the area of animal nutrition, being a critical and fundamental structure to the graduate programs in Animal Science, which has a concept 7 by CAPES, the Graduate Program in Veterinary Medicine, with concept 6 by CAPES and the Aquaculture Postgraduate Program of the Aquaculture Center of UNESP - CAUNESP, concept 6 by CAPES. Much of the dissertations and theses of these programs use animal feed produced at the Feed Factory. In addition, the Graduate Program in Animal Science has as one of its lines of research the study of the production of feed for animals and its influence on the quality of food, performance and health of animals and efficiency of the animal production process.
