Abstract
In 2006, Technomar initiated a PIPE Phase I project (Process 05/59827-5) for the development of a console for dynamic positioning systems (DP), which aimed to become the basis for a final product to be offered to the market. SPD's are positioning control systems for floating systems. To accelerate the implementation of the algorithms of this console, the hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) was used, and hardware was developed in such a way to obtain the operational interface know-how. With the restructuring of the company and the entry of four new members between 2010 and 2013, Technomar has increased, both in relation to revenue (triplicate since 2010) and to the staff (10 of them in CLT), as well as share participation. Due to this new structure, it was perceived an opportunity to use all the know-how obtained and the codes implemented to create an intermediate product: the DP system simulator, whose offer to the market would be immediate and, thus, being a step towards the development of a console that performs positioning operations in vessels. Seeing the commercial opportunity of transforming the SPDTech prototype into a complete DP simulator in its features such as that of Kongsberg, a benchmark company, Technomar submits this proposal to the PIPE Phase II Indirect.
