Abstract

This research proposal refers to a collaboration between UNICAMP, the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, and The Clark Art Institute in the United States. The main objective is to study alterity in the contemporary Atlantic through a central instrument of art historical investigation: comparison. Focussing on the study of the Pinacoteca permanent art collection, the project will invest on developing new models for writing, teaching and transmitting art history, promoting the expansion of the field regarding both its form and content.
