Abstract

This research is concerned about the studies which articulated work and mental health the concepts of which understands work and work relation as a central aspect of the mental health constitution and the identity of the adult individual. These studies intend to articulate work concepts originating from the sociology of work and the ergonomics with the psychoanalytical concept of individual. The main objective of this research is to understand the relation between artistic work organization on dance and its implications in mental health of artist workers - interpreter and creator in dance area. Analyzing the individuals experience in the relation with work organization, we intend to investigate the impact of this work organization in the manifestations of suffering and pleasure in such a work, that is, its implications in the construction of the mental health of the worker/dancer.The research is inserted in the qualitative research area. It represents a case-study the research field is composed by a group of dancers from the dance company Danceato, linked to Companhia de Danças de Diadema. We intend to contribute to theoretical studies which relate mental health and work, through the singularity of this case-study. The scientific methods used will be: documental and bibliography analysis, groups, individual interviews and ethnographic research.
