Abstract

The Production History Matching is one of the most important tasks in the reservoir engineering and it is a very complex process due to the great quantity of uncertainties involved as a consequence of a low quantity of geologic data and available fluids. New technologies for well test tools are being developed to increase the number and the reliability of the information, aiming a better characterization of the reservoir and, therefore, yielding a better production optimization process. A new challenge is to create a methodology to use these data in the production history matching process, introducing new information into the model as they are being acquiring in the field, yielding more reliable forecasts.This project has the objective to integrate the areas of geologic characterization and reservoir numerical simulation to take a better advantage of the geologic data, mainly the fluid saturation around the wells. It predicts the integration of the generation of saturation maps research line (already started in Petrobrás and Unicamp) with the production history matching research line (also in development in Unicamp), trying to develop a methodology to increase the reliability of the prediction models and reduction of the studying times of complex fields. A theoretical study case will be utilized to validate the developed methodology and, in sequence, the methodology will be applied in a real or a synthetic case with characteristics of a real field.
