Abstract

The objective of the present research is to analyze the public politics of the administrators of Minas Gerais, between 1871 and 1889, in order to understand its proposals for the regional development front to the probable demands of the economic and politicians groups. More specifically, It intend to examine the interest’s agriculture groups of Minas Gerais and as they articulated themselves with the politics of the provincial government. The selected sources to carry through this study are the reports and speaks of the presidents of the province of Minas Gerais, the annals of the provincial state legislature of Minas Gerais and the main periodicals published in the province, in that period.
