Abstract

The aim of this work is to evaluate the space dependence as well as the standard of occurrence and the relation between the physical and mineralogical attributes of a Red Argissolo under sugar cane culture. The study area will have its relief form classified in accordance to Troeh et al., (1965). It will be installed two regular grids containing 121 points, spaced in 10 m interval, having a 100m x 100 m dimension distributed in 1 hectare each. The collected samples will be submitted to laboratory analysis for determination of physical attributes (bulk density, total volume of pores, macroporosity, microporosity and stability of aggregates) and separation of the clay fractions. Later the caulinita-gibssita system in free-iron clays will be evaluated by means of the X-ray diffraction, by using the powder method. The results of the analyses of laboratory and of X-ray diffraction be submitted to statistics and geostatistics analysis for evaluation of the variability and spatial dependence.
