Abstract

The Research on the Critique of Art and History of Contemporary Art studying the documents and works of art produced by critics during its trajectory and objectively reflect on this production, ascertaining the beginning and the maturation of a theoretical basis of the Brazilian contemporary art. Mario Pedrosa as critical of art and political activist thought in a form of performance art or even criticizes policy. He thought the art as means of expression and social transformation against capitalist alienation. In critical Pedrosa, it is the combined assessments artistic aesthetic and philosophical observations coming from its solid scholarship. According to him, no demonstration in the field of the arts should be taken lightly. Pedrosa was one of the first intellectuals to support the activity criticism as "science" and marked the critical Brazilian production as a landmark.His production in newspapers gave greater visibility and scope of his work, drawing the criticism of the media specialist restricted and leading the public the ideas that were discussed. Pedrosa committed by the popularization of the art, to bring the museums to people or lead people to museums, If "Art is Vital need" as suggested Pedrosa, it should be accessible and intelligible to all concerned.
