Abstract

In veterinary medicine, the useful of the ultrasonographic exam in the evaluation of the breast tumors is very limited and presents low sensibility yet. This because there are not researches that demonstrate the relation of the imaging diagnosis findings with routine and conclusives techniques to the characterization of the malignancy in bitches and, how used in humans, the color Doppler mode utilization to formation of new vessels detection. The proposed research has how purpose to diagnosis the mammary neoplasms in bitches through conventional ultrasonographic exam and color Doppler mode. They will be used to the research 60 animals, distributed according with the ultrasonographic findings in three groups (growing in relation to the malignancy). They will be made physical, conventional ultrasonographic and with color Doppler mode exams, macroscopic and microscopic evaluation in the neoplasms, quantification of the blood levels of progesterone, estrogen and prolactin, histologic evaluation through collected sample by puncture and will be estimated vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) levels. By this way, it was suggested that from obtained datas will be possible to characterize the malignancy of non invasive way of the mammary tumors in bitches, evaluating the tissue characteristics and the presence of formation of new vessels (to determine the sensibility of the ultrasonographic exam).
