Abstract

This research project has as main objective the synthesis of lactones exhibiting potential selective COX-2 inhibitor activity. The lactones, considerea as target o f this research project, will be prepared from Morita-Baylis-Hillman adducts. To incoporate a new aromatic ring on the MBH adducts a Heck reaction should be used. The biological activity of synthesized lactones will be tested using experimental model sof alergenic and non-alergenic inflammation. (AU)
