Abstract

The present project aims at analyzing the effect of uncertainty about velocity change of a moving target on visual and manual performance. In order to assess this issue, adult participants will perform a forehand-drive-like movement with a badminton racquet, aiming at hitting a sensor at the end of an electronic trackway simultaneously with the arrival of the moving target. Conditions of certainty versus uncertainty about target velocity change will be compared, evaluating visual tracking behavior, temporal errors, and the kinematic profile of the interceptive movements.
