Abstract

The hydrographic basin, in the Brazilian case, beyond constituting the physical-territorial unit for the planning and the management of the water resources, has great influence for the planning of the regional development, because, constitutes adequate space units for the analysis of the societyÛnature relationship, of form articulated with other geographic scales and space clippings. However, the applied methodologies in the planning of the water resources rarely signal for the integrated analysis of the landscape, being focused only in the water. In such a way, to consider hydrographic basin as a unit of planning for the implantation and/or management of water resources imposes approach all the elements of its landscape (water, ground, plants, animals, pasture, agriculture, residences, industries, etc.) and understand it as a totality, composed for natural and social elements, which are dynamic and are interrelated. In this context, the hypothesis of this research is to investigate as the analysis integrated of the landscape applied to the ambient planning of hydrographic basin can contribute to subsidize the ambient management and of the water resources of hydrographic basin, especially in area of source of public supplying. The related proposal will be applied to the hydrographic basin of the source of the high course of the river Santo Anastácio/SP, aiming revert its current picture of ambient degradation, because this source is responsible for approximately 30% of the water supply in the city of Presidente Prudente/SP.
