Abstract

Sequential injection chromatography (SIC) is a relatively new technique of separation based on coupling systems of sequential injection analysis (SIA) with monolithic stationary phases. These phases are bimodal structure of micro and meso pores allowing the flow of mobile phase at pressures much lower than those usually required with the use of packed columns. Therefore, the SIC system allows a significant reduction in the time of analysis, cost and consumption of solvents in relation to conventional methods of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Most studies published to date involving the SIC technique is dedicated to the monitoring of active components in pharmaceutical formulations. Few studies have been dedicated to the environment. In this project aims to explore the concept of sequential injection chromatography to develop and validate a methodology for determination of triazines herbicides (simazine, propazine, atrazine and metabolites of atrazine) in water and soil solutions. With this aim is to have a methodology simple, rapid and low cost to study parameters of sorption of these compounds in soils and to study the influence of pH, ionic strength and organic matter in adsorption processes.
