Abstract

Introduction: Traumatic injuries are the most frequent causes of unilateral vocal fold immobility may lead vocal disturbances and consequently impacts on the quality of life. Objective: To evaluate the effects in the short and long-term voice therapy in patients with unilateral vocal fold immobility. Methodology: Is a prospective cohort study. Will be included patients diagnosed with unilateral vocal fold immobility. N is estimated that the sample of 60 cases. Patients will be accepted nasofibroscopy, GIRBAS scale, acoustic analysis, questionnaires on quality of life and voice - Voice Hadicap Index (VHI), four times, before therapy, in the short term (1-3 months) in the medium term (4-6 months) and long term (7-12 months). The speech therapy sessions will be performed only by a speech, followed by a 8-12 protocol sessions with two sessions a week. Later will be performed statistical analysis for correlation between demographic data, surgical and other variables. (AU)
