Abstract Regarding that according tops with identical alteration profiles have the same chronological age, this work aims to identify and characterize the ocurrences of alteration profiles and the relation of this material with the highest old surfaces of the Minas Gerais southeast relief, between the coordinates 42° to 44° W and 20° to 22º S.Therefore, the constituent material of hilltops will be identified and mapped in field over the topographic map. After, five profiles will be selected for a more detailed analysis that will be composed by macromorphologic and micromorphologic analysis, X-ray fluorescence spectometer and X-ray difration. Finally, supported by the bibliographic references it will be possible to define the correlation among the material of the old surfaces in the area of study, telling exactly wether these profiles are moved or as affirms King (1956) keep an elevation correspondence. The final report will have a synthesis map of the area, identifying its possible elevation correlation with the constituent material of the area, therefore, its paleosurfaces. | |
