Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the characteristics of patients with tuberculosis that interfere with the time of diagnosis in Ribeirão Preto - SP, 2010. To achieve this purpose will be an instrument of data collection (structured questionnaire) to be applied to tuberculosis patients in treatment (over 18 years out of prison, and accept the terms of consent) in the city Ribeirão Preto during the period of data collection (September to December 2010). Furthermore, data are collected from secondary sources (TB-WEB) in order to characterize clinically the patients interviewed. For data analysis techniques will be used descriptive statistics and frequency distribution, mean (construction of indicators), standard deviation, confidence intervals, chi-square analysis and multiple correspondence factorial. It is hoped that this study provide information to primary care services and the SUS for the formulation of public policies in relation to planning and implementing actions to control TB in order to target specific groups for early diagnosis of the disease.
