Abstract

INTRODUCTION: The literature reports a high percentage of refluxin patients with total, making it very important to know if there is the occurrence of reflux in the graft site tracheoesophageal commonly used in speech rehabilitation of these patients, and what complications are associated with reflux. MAINS: To describe the presence of gastroesophageal reflux is correlating with complications tracheoesophageal and changes resulting from the use of voice in patients total laryngectomy. METHODS: 30 patients will be recruited the Clinic for Rehabilitation of Laryngectomy, who underwent total laryngectomy for squamous cell carcinoma, regardless of sex, rehabilitated, users of tracheoesophageal prosthesis (TEP) for voice production. Through review of medical records, information to be collected respects of personal data, surgical, complementary treatment (radiotherapy and / or chemotherapy), insertion of TEP, rehabilitation and complications of TEP. After the sample design, patients will be interviewed about the clinical manifestations of gastroesophageal reflux and guests to the achievement of manometry, pH monitoring and evaluation of voice. The results will be analyzed and correlated statistically.
