Abstract

An application of a subspace-based identification method to structural health monitoring will be studied. The focus is to develop techniques to robustly detect and to diagnose on real time the health state of structures, which may be eventually damaged. The proposed methodology follows a previous work, where an experimental real time monitoring method was developed, based on data obtained from one single pair of sensor and actuator. The natural evolution is the extension of the method to the multivariable case, where data from multiple sensors and actuators are integrated in a common analysis, which demands changing the methodology. Besides, investigation of its robustness to ensure the possibility of structural monitoring under severe environmental condition will be performed, and also an analysis of the computational efficiency to implement the real time algorithm, with respect to the complexity increase due to multiple sensor data fusion.
