Abstract

The study mode Doppler vascular indices in pregnant healthy and showed pathological changes during and after gestation (stillbirths) and determining further steps of this technique in veterinary diagnostic could assist in the diagnosis of hemodynamic disorders in dogs have not correlated. Among the evaluations that should be correlated to the findings of the Doppler method in evaluating pregnancy is the fetus and the biometry measurement of blood pressure and serum levels of atrial natriuretic peptide. It is hoped that this assessment in addition to other diagnostic techniques is important in pregnant bitches. The aim of this study is to increase the ultrasonographic diagnosis of pregnancy in bitches in maternal fetal Doppler in the evaluation of pregnancy with the determination of vascular indices have not yet studied in veterinary medicine. Will be used in this experiment 30 females, weighing between 5-15 pounds. The animals will be submitted prior to clinical history, physical examination and obstetric, measurement of arterial pressure and blood count. The mode and Doppler ultrasound examination will be conducted with VET-30/ESAOTE Mylab device (transducer of 5.0 and 12.0 MHz). Will be held diagnostic ultrasound early pregnancy (day 15 of pregnancy), and by the Doppler ultrasound (5th to 9th week of pregnancy), measured the peak systolic velocity, end diastolic velocity, resistance index and pulsatility vascular (ovarian a. umbilical a. fetal middle cerebral, a. uterine) and evaluated the presence of unilateral or bilateral incisions in the Doppler tracings. There will also be in the 2nd, 5th and 9th week of pregnancy the fetal biometry, measurement of blood pressure, serum levels of atrial natriuretic peptide. The experiment will be random with a significance level of 5% for tests.
