Abstract

The present research aims to understand the genetic processes which imply in the different situations in which the ferric Nitisols. The intention is to investigate the reason why in some cases the nitic horizons are found directly upon C soil horizons, and in other cases, upon latosolic soil horizons. The research area is located in the municipality of Maringá, state of Paraná, Brazil, and the soils of the Pinguim river basin are set upon basalts of the Serra Geral Formation. In order to achieve this goal, the Pedologic Cover Structural Analysis methodology will be used in a comparative study that will attempt to isolate the factors that could result in such differentiations.
