Abstract

Intensive cultivation of brassice favors pest occurrence as diamond back moth (Plutella xylostella) which damages are serious constrain to production and pesticides are the most common tactic against this pest. Although it's economic importance few studies were performed about P. xylosella populations genetic structure, but some of them indicates that populational variability may be an important factor in pest management background. So, using ISSR-PCR four Brazilian populations of P. xylostella will be molecular characterized and their susceptibility to Beauveria bassiana isolates and entomopathogenic nematodes will be evaluated in bioassays against second instar larvae. Besides mortality will be measured foliar consumption and subletal effects. Data will provide information about the influence of populational variability on P. xylostella management tactics. Besides this, valuable information will be provided about populations isolation and their impact on diamond back moth management conception.
