Abstract

The Veterinary Medicine has achieved great technological advances, predominantly in the area of diagnostic imaging, with the development of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. These modalities are of great value in the identification and evaluation of lesions of the nervous tissue, since these imaging methods provide much information about the cerebral cortex and other nervous structures, such as the ventricles, cerebellum, pituitary, among others. The objective of this study is to analyze the structures and cerebral cortex on computed tomography in healthy adult and elderly cats, providing qualitative and quantitative information, the latter including the attenuation of brain areas and cerebellum, and ventricular dimensions.
