Abstract

This research project aims at analyzing the relationship between expectations of care and ability to perform ADL's (Activities of Daily Living, illness self-reported and subjective aspects in elderly patients with and without criteria of frailty, controlled by gender, age and living arrangements - Study Network FIBER, Campinas (SP). It also has the following specific objectives: 1) characterize the subjects as self-reported diseases, subjective aspects (self-perceived health and health care), demographic (age, gender and with whom she lives) and functional (ability to perform ADL's) according to the groups of frail elderly, pre-fragile and non fragile, 2) evaluate the expectation of care among these elderly people, 3) identify the variables that influence expectation of care for ADL's among the frail elderly, pre-frail and not frail. This study will be conducted from the data contained in the electronic database of the Research Network on Frailty in Elderly Brazilian Network (FIBRE). Will be compiled the data for the following variables: demographic data (age, gender and living arrangements), expectations of care for ADL's, measures of frailty (handgrip strength, walking speed, physical activity, weight loss, unintentional and fatigue), self-reported diseases, the ability to perform ADL's, the subjective (perceived health and self care assessment). Statistical methods for data analysis will be chosen after the compilation of the bank's data Rede FIBRA. We intend to perform descriptive analysis, comparison and correlation of data. (AU)
