Abstract The technical training program proposed includes field and laboratory activities common to different research areas in Marine Ecology. In the field, the training will comprise the manipulation of rocky shore crabs, seaweed sampling and subsequent sorting of dominant decapods, and handling of artificial collectors to obtain temporal settlement series at different study sites. In the laboratory, several morphometric analyses are proposed for the study of the population dynamics of spider crabs and hippolytid shrimps. The applicant will also help in scheduling field activities, in the divulgation among the local academic community of talk sessions related to main subjects of our research, and also in the maintenance of equipment.
