Abstract

1 - Change of mice and cage washing 3 times a week - Purpose: vivarium cleaning maintenance and of great importance for results reliability; 2 - Preparation of slides containing a drop of blood (blood swabs) from animals tail for daily experiments, whenever infected animals are identified. Purpose: these slides will be stained with Giemsa and used for parasitaemia assessment; 3- Glassware washing and materials sterilization whenever necessary - Purpose: to prepare materials for cell and parasite culture; 4- Parasite (murine and human) freeze-thaw whenever necessary - Purpose: maintenance and organization of Plasmodium spp strain stocks; an essential activity in experimental infection experiments; 5 - Preparation of culture slides containing endothelial cells whenever necessary - Purpose: to aid in tests of static parasite cytoadhesion and in flow condition.
